FAQ: Halo Laser Skin Resurfacing IN DENVER, CO
How does this treatment work?
Halo is the world’s first hybrid fractional laser. This means it utilizes two types of laser energy—ablative and non-ablative. The ablative laser creates thousands of tiny micro-channels in the skin, leaving the surrounding skin untreated. The non-ablative laser treats the entire surface of your skin. Together, the two lasers trigger your skin’s natural healing response, spurring healthy and vibrant new collagen and elastin growth for a wide range of improvements.
Is treatment painful?
A topical numbing cream will be applied prior to your treatment to ensure your comfort. You will experience a sunburned sensation immediately following your treatment, but this sensation is normal and should resolve itself within two hours after your session. To help ease post-treatment discomfort, we encourage patients to use our special skin-cooling device, the Zimmer, for 30 to 60 minutes before leaving our office.
How long will my treatment take?
Halo treatments last approximately 90 minutes, from the application of numbing cream through post-treatment care. Zimmer time will add another 30 to 60 minutes to your treatment.
How much downtime should I expect?
You should expect a few days to a week of social downtime following your Halo session, but this will vary depending on the intensity of your treatment. To maintain your results, it’s important to avoid any direct sun exposure and to use sunscreen with an SPF of 30+ or higher with both UVA and UVB protection every day of the year. Our clinical skincare products can help you maintain your treatment results.
Are there any side effects?
Following your treatment, you will experience a sunburned sensation, which can include redness, irritation, and swelling. As your skin begins to heal, it will become dry and flaky and develop a sandpaper texture. As your skin continues to gradually renew itself, this sandpaper texture will eventually slough off, revealing intensely refreshed, brighter skin.
Can Halo be combined with any other skin treatments?
Yes! We achieve amazing results by combining Halo with BBL™ photofacial. These two treatments provide a synergistic boost of benefits, revealing brighter, more even skin tone with a wide range of other improvements.
